Low Vision involves a wide range of visual abilities.
Below are the categories of vision in the better eye with the best possible glasses prescription:
Mild (20/30-20/60)
Moderate (20/70-20/160)
Severe (20/200-20/400)
Profound (20/500-20/1,000)
Near-Total Blindness (less than 20/1,000)
Total Blindness (no light perception)
In the United States, any person with vision that cannot be corrected to better than 20/200 in the best eye or who has 20 degrees or less of visual field remaining is considered legally blind.
At 20/20 Vision Associates, we specialize in low vision rehabilitation. Our goal is to make sure that our patients are able to live to the fullest extent possible despite any visual disabilities.
After a through examination, we will discuss options as to what will best help the patient conduct his or her daily activities.
