Meet Our Eye Care Team in Riverside

Eugene C. Kim, OD, received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in Fullerton in 2007. He is a member of the International Sports Vision Association. Dr. Kim has been serving the Riverside community and practicing at 20/20 Vision for 12 years. He is the director of sports vision at our Sport & Sun facility.

Patients appreciate Dr. Kim’s friendly, caring manner and excellent treatment. As an athlete himself, he is well versed in the challenges athletes face. Mallory A. Kennedy, OD, received her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry in 2016. Dr. Kennedy has been a member of the 20/20 Vision Associates team for 15 years, as an optician, administrator, and now as a doctor.

Dr. Kennedy examines the eyes of infants and small children; manages glaucoma; fits medically-necessary contact lenses; and performs vision therapy for the pediatric population within our practice. She has a friendly demeanor, a keen mind, and excellent diagnostic capabilities.

As an athlete, Dr. Kennedy enjoys playing golf and softball. She and her husband are life-long Riverside residents and are now proud parents of a little boy born in 2017!

Cheryl M. Everitt, OD, received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California in 1994. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Everitt takes a special interest in treating patients with a variety of difficult eye conditions, such as chronic headaches and migraines.

Dr. Everitt has been a conference speaker on topics ranging from contact lenses to practice management to trigeminal dysphoria. She has also participated in a mobile eye clinic in Riverside, and medical missions to Mexico.

Dr. Everitt is one of the original founders of 20/20 Vision Associates Optometry and has practiced for 25 years. She was an associate research scientist for 4 years prior to becoming an optometrist. She is also an active member of her church.

Scott Nguyen, OD, received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry in 2021. Dr. Nguyen has clinical experience in treating patients with dry eye ranging from mild to severe, treating and managing patients with diabetes, fitting medically-necessary contact lenses, and managing various eye conditions in the geriatric population.

Dr. Nguyen is very kind, personable and knowledgeable. As an athlete, Dr. Nguyen enjoys playing tennis. He was also part of the Boy Scouts of America and is an accomplished Eagle Scout. Dr. Nguyen is a music fanatic and loves to go to music festivals and concerts in his free time.
